Vision On can’t help but stay on top of the latest gear. So when the new Red Epic camera was released, we were fast to grab it.

As easy to handle as the Canon 5D but more powerful and with 5x the resolution, the Epic is about to change the way photographers work. Praised by directors Steven Soderbergh and David Fincher, and used to shoot the feature film “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” it is an ideal camera for capturing raw, 5k video. Right in the palm of your hand. The Epic is smaller and lighter than the original Red One and has quickly been adopted by premier photographers including Steven Klein and Inez+Vinoodh. We at Vision On believe this camera is a game- changing step up from the Canon 5D, and in addition to help with color correction and editing we always have a team standing by for technical and creative support.

After three years in a row of working with Vision On for retouching, Hush Puppies has just launched its fourth campaign and we are proud to have played a part in its creation. The work is always excellent, featuring shots from Stewart Shining, Peggy Sirota and Chris Craymer. But beyond creating work that’s charming, fresh and artful, we are especially proud of the behind-the-scenes collaboration. It meant that the workflow both worked... and flowed. We thank Hush Puppies for the loyalty and are excited to have already started the retouching work for campaign number five.

Vision On is proud to have color graded the feature film “Two Gates of Sleep,” and is currently accompanying it on the film festival circuit—garnering praise from Tokyo to Paris. Director Alistair Banks Griffin’s work has been likened to that of Terence Malick, and through a close collaboration with our colorist Nick Metcalf, he was able to create a mood and ambiance both essential and signature to the film. We are both honored and excited to have contributed to the film, and look forward to screening it not just here in New York but also in Cannes, London, Sao Paulo, Copenhagen and many more cities in between. While it may be our first feature film project, we anticipate much more big screen work to come.
